This Week's Classes
8th grade- What can you tell me about Darwin's significance?
7th grade- How was learning about plate tectonics relevant?
6th grade- Explain some adaptations we have learned about.
Darwin's significance is what created the most important scientific theory: the theory of evolution by natural selection. When he traveled, he noticed how the cormorants that lived in the Galopagos Island couldn't fly, but the ones on South America could fly. He also noticed the lizards and turtles were different on both lands. Another thing he saw was how the animals changed with the enviorment. For example the Finches had different beaks compared to where they lived. Some had big beaks and some had small. This was so they would be able to eat in their enviorment.
