Weekly Reflections: What did you learn in class this week? How does it connect or relate to your life? Post answers on BLOG.
ALL WORK IS DUE BY FRIDAY OF THIS WEEK!!!
In class this week, we learned about local winds. There are sea breezes and land breezes. Sea breezes occur during the day, and are produced by an uneven changing of temperatures between the land and sea. The land is warmer than the sea, so air is pushed toward land. At night, the process is reversed, and the sea is warmer than the land, causing wind to travel towards the land. We also learned about monsoons. Monsoons are caused almost the same way, except on a larger scale. This connects with my life because now I know what to expect if there is going to be a land breeze, or a sea breeze.
ReplyDeleteThis week in class, we learned about tempeatures and temperature scales. The temperature scales that we learned about are the fahrenheit scale, the kelvin scale, and the celsius scale. The farenheit scal is the most common scale in the U.S.A. The temperature at which Water boils in the farenheit scale is 212 degrees F. The temperatue at which water freezes is 32 degrees F. The boiling ponit of water for the kelvin scale is 373 k. The freezing point of water on the kelvin scale is 273. On the celsius scale, water boils at 100 degrees C. And water freezes at 0 degrees C. This connects to my life because it has to do with different temperatures that will, and already has come up in my life.
