  3. This week in class, we have started our storms project. I am doing hurricanes. I learned that hurricanes occur because of condensing water vapor. After summer has ended, the ocean water has been heated all summer, and the warm water mixes with warm air. These sources create very warm, moist air that concentrates in a specific spot, which becomes the core of the hurricane. This lowers the pressure inside the core, and winds swirl around it.
